AI consultancy for the work
your business already does.
A readiness review, a shortlist of uses ranked by the hours they save, and a written policy your team can follow.
In most businesses, someone is already using AI, often without anyone having decided they should. The useful questions come before any money is spent: where it saves real time, which data it is allowed to see, and who checks what it produces.
AI Consultancy is the advice that comes before AI & Automation, within Innovation. Every review is led from our Norwich office, in person across Norfolk or remotely for businesses further afield.
A shortlist, ranked by hours saved.
We spend time with the people doing the work and list every task where AI could help. Each one is scored on the hours it would save each week, the risk if it gets something wrong, and the data it would need to see.
Most lists come down to two or three uses worth doing now. The rest are written down too, with the reason they are not.
What the consultancy covers.
Advice first, before anything is bought or connected. The scope sets out which parts your business needs.
AI readiness assessment
The tools already in use, the data they can reach, the skills in the team, and the risks nobody has looked at yet.
Use-case shortlist
Every task where AI could help, scored on hours saved, risk and the data involved, then cut down to the few worth doing.
Tool selection
The right tool for each use, starting with what you already pay for. Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace business plans now include AI assistants.
AI usage policy
A short written policy: which tools are approved, what must never be put into them, and who checks the output before it reaches a client.
Data protection review
Where personal data is involved, the risks set out in writing, so your data protection lead can assess them against the ICO’s guidance.
AI training for your team
Practical sessions on the approved tools, using your own documents and tasks rather than generic examples.
Leadership briefing
A session for directors on what AI can and cannot do for the business, so decisions about it are made at the right level.
A plan for the first use
What it should save, how that will be measured, and what result would make you stop.
Review, recommend, train.

Weeks one and two.
We talk to the people doing the work, look at the tools already in use, and record where the time goes each week.
Nothing is connected or changed during the review.
Recommend.
Week three.
A written report with the shortlist, the tools, the usage policy and the risks, presented to the leadership team.
You decide what goes ahead, and in what order.
Train.
Week four onwards.
Your team is trained on the approved tools, and the first use is taken forward, by your own people or through our AI & Automation service.
Each use is checked against the hours it was meant to save.

Questions about AI consultancy.
What does AI consultancy include?
A readiness review of the tools, data and skills already in the business, a shortlist of uses ranked by the hours they would save, tool recommendations, a written usage policy, a data protection review where personal data is involved, and training for your team.
What is an AI readiness assessment?
A short review of where the business stands before anything is bought: which AI tools are already in use, what data they can reach, where the hours go each week, and what would need to change for AI to be used safely.
Do we need to buy new software?
Often not. Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace business plans now include AI assistants, Copilot Chat and Gemini, with features that depend on the plan. We start with what you already pay for and only recommend more where the hours saved justify it.
Is it safe to put client data into AI tools?
It depends on the tool, its settings and the data. Where personal data is involved, UK GDPR applies, and the ICO’s guidance is that most uses of AI that process personal data will need a data protection impact assessment. We set out what each tool would see, so that assessment can be made properly.
What should AI not be used for?
Anything that needs judgement about a client, a price or a person. Those decisions stay with your team. AI drafts, sorts and summarises; a person checks and decides.
Do you run AI training for business teams?
Yes. Sessions are built around the tools you have approved and the tasks your team actually does, with a short written guide for each role.
Who is responsible for how AI is used in the business?
The business, from the top. The ICO is clear that senior management cannot hand that accountability to a technical team. The usage policy names who approves new tools, who checks the output and who to ask when something is unclear.
What happens once the consultancy is finished?
Your team can take the shortlist forward, or we build it through our AI & Automation service. Either way, each use is measured against the hours it was expected to save.
How is it priced?
Every engagement has a defined scope and a stated fee, agreed in writing before any work begins. Tell us where you’re going and we’ll tell you what it would involve.
