Technical SEO, so Google can
find, read and rank every page.
A technical SEO audit of crawling, indexing, speed and structure, then the fixes made in order of what each problem costs in enquiries.
A page Google cannot crawl, or chooses not to index, cannot rank for anything, however good it is. Many sites have problems like this without knowing: pages missing from the index, duplicates competing with each other, redirects that lead nowhere, and templates that load slowly on a phone. They are found by reading the site the way Google does.
Technical SEO is part of our SEO service within Digital, and the first thing every SEO plan checks. Audits are run from our Norwich office, on sites built on any platform.
Every issue, ranked by what it costs.
A crawl of a few hundred pages can list thousands of warnings, and most of them change nothing. Each issue we find is checked against the pages it affects and what those pages bring in, then ranked, so the fixes that matter to enquiries are made first.
You receive a short list with the reason beside each item, not a long export from a tool.
What technical SEO covers.
The audit looks at all of it. The fixes are made in the order that will make the most difference to your site.
Technical SEO audit
The whole site crawled the way Google crawls it, read alongside your Search Console data, with every issue ranked.
Crawling and indexing
Robots rules, sitemaps and the Page indexing report checked, so the pages that matter are indexed and the rest are not.
Core Web Vitals
Loading, responsiveness and visual stability measured from real visits, with the templates that fail fixed first.
Duplicates and canonicals
Duplicate and near-duplicate addresses consolidated with redirects and canonical tags, so the signals gather on one page.
Redirects and migrations
Old addresses mapped to new ones before a site is moved or rebuilt, so the rankings it has earned move with it.
Structured data
Markup that describes the business, its services and products, and matches what each page actually shows.
Site structure and internal links
Navigation and links arranged so every important page is a few clicks from the home page, and none is left orphaned.
Monitoring
Search Console checked each month for new indexing errors, Core Web Vitals failures and security issues.
From crawl to fixed.
What happens, and when, from the day the audit begins.
Tell us where you’re goingCrawl.
Week one.
We crawl the site, read its Search Console reports, and test the main page templates on a phone and a desktop.
Access to Search Console and Google Analytics is all we need to begin.
Rank.
Week two.
Every issue is checked against the pages it affects and what they bring in, then sorted into fix first, fix next and later.
You receive the audit as a short written report, with the reasoning beside each item.
Fix.
Weeks three to eight.
We make the fixes ourselves where we have access, or brief your developer with exactly what to change and how to test it.
Each fix is checked in Search Console once Google has crawled the page again.
Watch.
Each month.
Search Console is checked for new errors, and Core Web Vitals are tracked after every change to the site.
New problems are raised as soon as they appear.
Technical SEO, in practice.

Questions about technical SEO.
What does a technical SEO audit include?
A full crawl of the site, the indexing and Core Web Vitals reports in Search Console, checks on duplicates, canonicals, redirects, structured data, internal links and mobile pages, and a ranked list of fixes with the reasoning for each.
What are Core Web Vitals?
Three measures of how real visitors experience a page: Largest Contentful Paint for loading, Interaction to Next Paint for responsiveness, and Cumulative Layout Shift for visual stability. Google’s targets are within 2.5 seconds, under 200 milliseconds and under 0.1.
Do Core Web Vitals affect rankings?
Google recommends good scores and says they align with what its ranking systems reward. They are rarely the deciding factor on their own: the page with the best answer can still outrank a faster one. Fast pages also lose fewer visitors before they enquire.
Why are some of our pages not on Google?
Usually one of a few reasons: the page is blocked or marked noindex, Google treats it as a duplicate of another page, nothing on the site links to it, or Google has crawled it and chosen not to index it yet. The Page indexing report in Search Console shows which.
Will rebuilding our website lose our rankings?
It can, if old addresses are not redirected. Before any rebuild or move, we map every old URL with rankings or links to its new page, and check the redirects on the day the new site goes live.
Can you make the fixes, or only report them?
Both. We make the fixes where we have access, including on Webflow, Shopify and Wix Studio sites. Where your developer holds the code, we brief them with exactly what to change and how to test it.
Can we buy a website SEO audit on its own?
Yes, as a project with a fixed scope, with or without the fixes. Sites change with every update, so the monthly SEO service includes a check of Search Console each month.
How is it priced?
Every engagement has a defined scope and a stated fee, agreed in writing before any work begins. Tell us where you’re going and we’ll tell you what it would involve.
