Tables booked,
shelves cleared.

Marketing for food and drink producers, brands, farm shops and restaurants, from the photography to the paid social, with one producer or restaurant per area.

Food is bought with the eyes first. People decide what to try from a photograph, then come back for the taste and the story behind it.

That puts content at the centre of the plan: the food photographed properly, the people who make it and where it comes from. The rules have tightened too. Since January 2026, businesses with 250 or more employees cannot run paid online ads for identifiable less healthy food and drink, and every nutrition or health claim must be on the authorised register.

Built around the season.

Each month starts with a written plan built around your year: what is in season, the launches and listings coming up, the events and the trade buyers to reach. Every task has a name beside it and the sales or bookings it is there to bring in.

You see the plan before the month begins and the report after it ends. Work that is not selling is stopped, and the time goes where it will.

Each month

  • Run against your sales targets
  • Planned around the season
  • Claims checked before they run
  • One report to the owner

What we run for food and drink.

Every service Pollard Media offers, run against your sales and booking targets. The plan sets out which parts your business needs, whether you sell through retailers, online, from a farm shop or across the table.

  • Producers and brands

Positioning, packaging direction and launch marketing for brands selling to retailers, wholesalers and direct.

  • Farm shops and delis

Local search, social and events that bring people back each week, with what is in season front and centre.

  • Restaurants and hospitality

Bookings, events and private dining marketed through search, social and your own list.

  • Retail listings and trade

Sell-in material, trade show content and LinkedIn for the buyers who list your products.

  • Content Visits

Food, people and premises photographed and filmed from a half-day on site each month, edited and ready to publish.

  • Paid social and Google Ads

Campaigns for launches, bookings and online orders, kept within the less healthy food advertising rules where they apply.

  • Email and your own list

Newsletters, launches and seasonal offers to customers who have asked to hear from you.

  • Pack and product copy

Product descriptions and pack copy written to the labelling and claims rules, and checked with you before print.

  • The website and shop

Built in Shopify, Webflow or Wix Studio, with product pages that carry the allergen and ingredient information customers need before they buy.

  • Tracking and reporting

Online orders, bookings and enquiries traced to the channel they came from.

Every claim, on the register.

Food marketing is regulated from the label to the ad. Nutrition and health claims must be authorised, allergens must be clear, and the less healthy food advertising restrictions now apply. We write to those rules and send each claim to you for sign-off.

  • Nutrition and health claimsOnly claims on the GB nutrition and health claims register, worded as authorised. A general reference to health needs a specific authorised claim beside it.
  • Less healthy food adsSince 5 January 2026, businesses with 250 or more employees cannot run paid online ads for identifiable less healthy products. Smaller businesses keep evidence that they are exempt.
  • ChildrenAds for less healthy food kept out of any media where more than a quarter of the audience is under 16, whatever the size of the business.
  • Words that mean something“Farmhouse”, “home-made” and “traditional” used only as the Food Standards Agency’s criteria describe, and claims about origin kept accurate.
  • Your sign-offNothing with a claim, an allergen statement or a price goes live until you have approved it.

The first quarter.

How a food or drink business is taken on, and how the work runs once it is.

Tell us where you’re going
  1. Review.

    Weeks one to three.

We spend time in your kitchen, shop or premises, review the marketing already in place and the numbers behind it, then write the plan around your year.

You receive the plan, with your sales targets on page one and a name against every part of it.

  2. Handover.

    Weeks four to six.

Ad accounts, listings, tools and suppliers move across in order of what matters most, so nothing stops while the rest follows.

Every account stays in your name.

  3. Run.

    Month two onwards.

Each month’s work is planned around your season, launches and events, done by the specialists in each discipline and reviewed with your named lead.

The monthly report goes to the owner.

  4. Adjust.

    Each quarter.

The plan is reviewed against your sales and booking targets. Work that is moving you towards them gets more time, and work that is not is stopped.

The scope and fee change only when you agree it in writing.

Marketing you can hold to account.

Food businesses have good reason to be wary of marketing promises. Pollard Media works to commitments written for the people who answer for the numbers. Every client gets them, set out in the client pack.

We approached Pollard Media with very short notice after our existing agency let us down just before a crucial product launch. We were in urgent need of a website that represented our business, and would work for our product launch the next morning, and Pollard Media truly delivered above and beyond.

One producer or restaurant per area.

Our Mission

Questions about food and drink marketing.

Do you work with producers as well as restaurants?

Yes. Producers and brands, farm shops and delis, and restaurants each get a plan written around how their customers buy.

Do the less healthy food ad rules apply to us?

Only if your business has 250 or more employees, and only to paid ads for identifiable products in the categories covered. Your own website and unpaid posts are outside the rules, but boosted posts are not. Smaller businesses should keep evidence of their size.

Can you photograph our food?

Yes. Content Visits are a half-day on site each month, covering the food, the people who make it and where it comes from, edited and ready to publish.

Can you help us get listed with retailers?

We build what buyers ask to see: the brand story, product information, photography and evidence of demand from your own channels. The listing conversation is yours, and we support it.

What does one producer or restaurant per area mean?

Pollard Media acts for one business per sector in each area. Once we act for your business, we will not take on your direct competitor nearby. We agree what that means for your business before the work begins, and write it down. It covers all ongoing marketing work; website builds are the one exception.

Do we keep our accounts and data?

Yes. Ad accounts, analytics, Google Business Profiles, the website and every file are held in your name, and we are given access to run them. If you ever move on, all of it stays with you.

How is it priced?

Every engagement has a defined scope and a stated fee, agreed in writing before any work begins. Tell us where you’re going and we’ll tell you what it would involve.

Ready to talk about your next stage of growth?

Tell us where you’re going. We’ll tell you, candidly, whether we’re the right agency to take you there.
